Referee Trainer/Mentor

We have many youth who work off their soccer fess as referees, and these youth need your help to learn how to be a great soccer referee. We have weekly 45 minute referee classes, you can help teach, and you can also help young referees as they referee their first games.

Description

The Referee Trainer is responsible for the following:

• Teaching a weekly referee course on Saturdays from 10:15 am to 11:00 am. Each week covers a different referee topic, so that all the laws of the game are covered over the course of the season. You do not need to commit to the whole season. Any days you have available are helpful.

The Referee Mentor is responsible for the following:

• Watching the referees for a game with an eye towards encouraging them and making them successful. All games are on Saturdays, but particular dates and times are at your discretion.

Requirements

The things you need to be the Referee Trainer/Mentor in RYAA are:

• Minimum 3 years experience as a soccer referee
• A positive attitude when working with youth referees, coaches and children.
• Communication and organization skills.
  

Commitment

Estimated Weekly Time Commitment: 1 - 5 hours

The fall soccer season begins in late August and ends the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Games are on Saturdays and last between 45 and 90 minutes, depending on the age. You will work with the Referee Coordinaor to schedule days and times when you can help with young referees.
